First off, I didn’t know that I was going to live in a Christian Commune when I took this mission trip. I think I skimmed over the details just a little bit. And secondly, it’s not a hippie commune so don’t get weirded out. It’s actually pretty cool.

I don’t know how I could just drop everything else in life and live in a place like this. The scenery is amazing. The food is wonderful. The people are so kind and have truly lived in value of the important things in life - thus not necessarily defying, but realizing how materialistic society is. But I don’t know if I’m courageous enough to live the way they do. It’s been a crazy experience but definitely educational and enlightening. I wish one day to live not in a commune, but in the ways that they mirror Christ and what he stands for.
